General Questions
This platform connects outdoor enthusiasts who want to share adventures together. You can post trips you're planning and invite others to join, or browse trips posted by other members and request to join them.
Yes, the website is entirely free to use for both people joining trips and those posting them.
No, you do not need to create an account however we recommend signing up for the newsletter to make sure you don't miss out on new trips.
Through talking to members of the adventure community, it’s clear that whilst some people are happy to attend a trip with people of all genders, some feel more comfortable in groups of only the same gender as themselves. If there are currently no trips available which include your gender then please do create one!
Posting Trips
Click the "Create a Trip" button at the top of any page and fill in details including location, dates, budget range, type of adventure, and the number of people you're looking to join you. You can add photos and a detailed itinerary if available.
If you need to amend the details of a trip please email contactus@findyourtribe.group.
You can post as many trips as you can commit to.
We advise putting as much detail about the pace, experience level, and type of adventure as possible to ensure the people who join the trip have similar expectations.
Joining Trips
You can browse all available trips on the "Join a Trip" page.
Trip listings include destination, dates, potential costs, adventure type (inc. accommodation type; campsite, wild camping, BnB etc), and information about the organiser the gender of those how are welcome to join the trip.
You will be added to a WhatsApp group with all other participants, including the trip designer. Introduce yourself and tell the group how excited you are for the trip. We recommend having a Facetime call with all participants to hash out any detail of the trip not covered in the trip post. The WhatsApp group is not monitored or controlled by Find Your Tribe.
There are no ‘leaders’. The trip designer has come up with the idea but is not responsible for the participants or trip experience/ outcome. All participants are responsible for themselves. It is important to understand that each trip participant must be completely self-supported.
Yes, but we encourage responsible participation. If you need to cancel, please do so as early as possible and message the WhatsApp group to let them know.
Safety and Privacy
We don’t have the capacity (yet) to verify users. However, even with verification you need to be careful when meeting people you don't know. We recommend the following; - Get to know the people going on the trip through the WhatsApp group, we recommend having a quick Facetime call with all participants. - Make sure the initial meeting point is a public place. - Keep a friend or family member aware of your plans and share your location. - Trust your instincts, if at any point you feel unsafe then create space between yourself and the person or situation making you feel that way. - Make sure you have the means to keep your phone charged for the duration of the trip.
Only the information you choose to display on your trip post and for those joining trips, your phone number will be visible to the other trip participants on the WhatsApp group. If you want to join a group but don't wish to be added to the trip WhatsApp group, email contactus@findyourtribe.group and we try and find an alternative way for you to correspond with the trip participants.
